In week 5 of my GDS210 unit in my 5th Trimester at SAE, we were put into groups of 3 and tasked with creating a 3D remake of a 2D arcade classic of our choice. The game we decided to recreate was the arcade classic Bomberman. In our version of the game, there are four players and rather than one player placing bombs to destroy enemies and walls as in the original arcade game, in our version, four players are pitted against each other in a single arena, and try to defeat each other by placing bombs. The last player standing earns a point and then the game continues onto the next round.

In my group, I was tasked with working on the game manager scripts as well as with getting the score variables and UI to function as needed. Initially I designed the score system to work so that each player earned a point when they destroyed a wall or killed another player. According to feedback from my group members, this was incorrect and I needed to create a system whereby a player earns a point when all other players are dead, using a round-based system. I spent the majority of my week 5 lesson trying to rectify and refine my solutions for this problem. In the coming weeks I hope to come up with a workable solution for this and be able to get the score system to work.
